Your mail stays on your computer
Most online converters want you to upload your whole mailbox. MBOX Browser does the opposite: your browser opens the file directly on your device. No server ever receives your email, there is no account, and nothing tracks what you read.

Questions
Is it really private?
Yes. MBOX Browser is a web page that runs entirely in your browser. Your .mbox file is read on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. You can check it yourself: load the page, disconnect from the internet and open your archive.
Where do I get an .mbox file?
Gmail exports your mail as .mbox through Google Takeout. Our step-by-step guide shows how. Exports from Thunderbird, Apple Mail and Google Vault work too.
How big can the archive be?
There is no fixed limit. The file is read in pieces instead of all at once, so archives of tens of gigabytes work on an ordinary computer. Opening takes from a few seconds to a few minutes.
Which browsers and systems work?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows, macOS and Linux. Phones are not a good fit for multi-gigabyte files.
Can it convert my mail to Outlook (PST)?
Not to PST. Pro exports emails as .eml files, which Outlook, Thunderbird and Apple Mail open, and as a new, smaller .mbox file.
